About Okemoor Quality Foods
Ray Wilson and Lynda McKenzie have been successfully running the business since they took over in 2001. Together they embrace the original concept and ideals that continue to make Okemoor stand out. Okemoor was founded by successful hoteliers Jeffrey and Liz Lawrence in 1989, to provide Westcountry businesses with top quality food products. The couple were no strangers to great food. Liz was an experienced chef and the couple knew how to meet the demands of hungry and fastidious customers at every meal. Their distinctive food made an impact right from the start, supplying consumers across the South West who genuinely appreciated their freshness and quality. Ray and Lynda have built upon this fantastic foundation, whilst Liz remains an important part of the team.
The awards we’re winning
In 2010 we entered our products for the first time into the prestigious Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards and were delighted to win a series of coveted Gold awards. On a roll, we also won Gold awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, a total of 17 to date including a triple gold for our legendary Steak and Stilton Pie and, this year, a double gold for our Pork and Sheppy's Cider Pie. We have also won a host of awards from Taste of the West, most recently a Gold for the wonderfull Nduja Pork and Sultana Sausage Roll and the Cheddar and Allium Quiche.
In 2010 we joined the Safe and Local Supplier Approval scheme, SALSA, a nationally recognised food safety certification scheme for smaller producers. Through their rigorous annual audits, we demonstrate our robust, highly effective food safety standard.

Ray and Lynda
With their love and passion for food, their Devonshire roots and years of management skills behind them, Ray and Lynda are perfectly placed to be at the helm of Okemoor. Friendly and considerate they ensure all the team’s needs are met whilst being constantly innovative and forward thinking, overseeing the production of the ultimate in puddings, pies, quiches and cakes.
Head chef Fortunato, who is called 'Fort' for short, previously worked with two well-known Michelin Star chefs. Gaining many years of excellent experience in Italy and France before coming to Britain, he has now worked in the UK for ten years. His creations are simply out of this world, with great taste at the heart of all he makes.
An experienced chef, Liz can normally be found keeping very busy in the kitchen. When she’s not making some of the Okemoor favourites Liz will be turning her hand to new product development. Together with Fort, they make a truly great creative partnership.
Ann and Brian
Ann and Brian are the people you’ll meet at your doorstep as they deliver Okemoor far and wide. Friendly and fun, they are both experienced people who care, have worked with the company for many years and have an amazing knowledge of all the products.
Cooks and kitchen staff are just as important even though we don't name them all - our production staff take pride in their work and their contribution is valued by Ray and Lynda.
