Okemoor was founded in 1989 to supply distinctive, hand-made food to those West Country retail establishments who appreciate freshness and quality.  In 2001 the current owners, Lynda & Ray, embraced these ideals and methods and have continued to maintain the original philosophy that makes Okemoor so distinctive.  The emphasis on only using the best and freshest ingredients remains fundamental, which in turn produces top quality results.

Wherever possible, the ingredients are sourced locally, meat from the local butcher, a nearby farm for dairy products and so on for the eggs, fruit and vegetables. We believe in buying locally to help the local economy and therefore, the community.

To maintain freshness and quality, no finished product is carried as stock, everything is made fresh to order. Obviously, no colourants and preservatives are added.   As a result, our range of products (many now winning awards) are appreciated by some of the finest retail outlets in the South West, South Wales and the Cotswolds.

The end product just has to be seen and tasted.  The most common phrase we hear from the trade and public alike is "real food". Granny's brilliant cooking may be a bit of a cliché, with her mouth-watering pies, cakes and tarts - just like ours and probably she was quietly proud of it, just as we are proud of the real food we still produce by hand.
